Much loved grappler was a force to be reckoned with

The world of professional wrestling lost a, much loved, member of its community this past Monday and so many of the world's greatest wrestlers, both male and female, had a very tough time understanding and dealing with our loss.

Peggy Fowler, widely known professionally as Peggy Lee Leather, was born on January 19.1959 in Reynolds, Georgia. She passed, May 22, 2023, at the age of 64, at her residence in the same locale.

On Facebook and other forums, many professional wrestlers expressed their love for Peggy.

The legendary Leilani Kai, posted this, as she began to mourn the passing of Peggy.

"I can't begin to express what I'm going through right now. I'm taking this with my Peggy so hard! ...I (have) known Peggy from the day she started, we were tag partners for many years. She was a sweet soul and would never say nothing bad about no one. We kept in touch pretty often. We had secrets we told one another because we trusted each other! Her best friend Bambi (editors note, Selina Majors) and soul mate is taking this very hard, and I love you, Bambi! You're in my thoughts and prayers through this sad time. Prayers for Peggy’s Family much love!"

Doris Williams Whitlock, who wrestled as Sabrina, posted, "I haven't posted in months maybe a year, but Joyce Grable called me, and I kinda lost it. Peggy Fowler my fantastic friend took me to Japan for 7 weeks. I turned 21 there she's the best ever a ❤ of gold. I haven't n will not post again. Thank you I love you Peggy Fowler."

Malia Hoska wrote, "Peggy Lee was one of the first women I shared a ring with, she was talented, sweet and carried me thru the match. We became friends over the years and toured together. I will miss her more than words can say, and I will cherish the memories of her friendship and smiles for many years to come, Another wonderful person leaving us too soon."

Peggy Lee Leather was laid to rest on Sat. May 27 in the Chapel of McLeighton Funeral Service in Reynolds, Georgia.

The Cauliflower Alley Club extends our sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Peggy and prays for peace and comfort for all affected during this difficult time. May you rest in power, Peggy Lee. Godspeed.
