The Bobby Bass Story

Join us for what is bound to be an unforgettable 2024 Learning Series event as the Cauliflower Alley Club proudly presents "No Class? No Problem: Texas Sized Tales from a Canadian Outlaw -The Bobby Bass Story" at this years' 58th annual reunion.

Hosted by the CAC's first ever wrestling trainer award honoree, CAC Executive Board Director Ron Hutchison, this event promises to be both entertaining and informative. While Bass and Hutchison might not be quite on the level of Abbott and Costello, their chemistry and camaraderie guarantee a Learning Series session of laughter, learning, and nostalgia.

Dive into the world of territory wrestling with CAC lifetime member Bobby Bass, a legendary figure whose career spanned decades. Born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada Bass has taken his act everywhere from the Gulf Coast of Alabama to the beauty of British Columbia with notable stops in Atlantic Canada, Western Canada, Quebec, Japan and, as Gorilla Monsoon described it, in "the mecca of professional wrestling", Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens. His journey through the gritty, glamorous days of travelling wrestlers is filled with humorous road stories, unforgettable events, and tales of championship reigns he both cherished and despised.

Bobby Bass, wearing either a tuxedo or a cowboy hat, sometimes both, toured the globe as a wrestler and sometimes manager in the 1970s and 1980s. Whether it was headlining in small-towns or making appearances in Canada's largest wrestling arenas, the appearance of Bobby Bass on the card always guaranteed that fans would get their monies worth as he was a "bump machine".

Don't miss this opportunity to hear from one of wrestling's most outspoken and colorful characters. Come for the stories, stay for the history, and leave with a deeper appreciation for the golden era of professional wrestling. This event is perfect for wrestling enthusiasts, history buffs, and anyone who loves a good tale of adventure and resilience.

Join us for the laughter, the learning and a whole lot of wrestling lore on Wednesday Aug. 21 at 11:00 AM inside of Salon D at the Plaza.
