Ms. Grable was certainly "a gem of a human being" and will be missed

The Cauliflower Alley Club is deeply saddened to have to report the passing of our dear friend and the CAC's 2022 Courage Award Winner, Joyce Grable.

Ms. Grable passed away on Friday Sept. 29, 2023 at the age of 70 years old.

This from, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer:

"Grable entered pro wrestling in 1971 and was named after the first Joyce Grable, who had wrestled in the 60s and 70s. Along with Vicki Williams, she defeated Donna Christianello and Toni Rose in October of 1973 to win the NWA Women’s Tag Team titles for the first time. She would hold the title six times, two more times with Williams and also three times with Wendi Richter, who later became famous for a run in the WWE.

Aside from the NWA, Grable also wrestled in the WWWF, Stampede Wrestling, World Wrestling Council, and the AWA. She retired in 1991.

In 2013, she was diagnosed with leukemia."

Beyond the ring, Joyce Grable's warm personality and dedication to her fans endeared her to many. She will be remembered not only for her contributions to professional wrestling but also for the positive impact she had on those who knew her.

Joyce Grable's legacy will live on in the hearts of wrestling fans and the annals of wrestling history. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a trailblazer and a true wrestling icon. Our thoughts go out to her family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.
