Jay Briscoe Passes

Jay Briscoe (real name Jamin Pugh), who just won Ring Of Honor's World Tag Titles with Dem Boys brother Mark, passed away at only 38 years of age early Tuesday evening in a head on collision in Laurel, Delaware. Jay was driving his two young daughters home from cheer leading practice when the tragedy occurred.

The rough and tough Briscoe Brothers had worked all over the world, but cut their teeth and made their reputations with a young Jay working on ROH's very first card in 2002. Jay held ROH's World Championship, had classics with the likes of Adam Cole and his own brother Mark besides holding the 6 man World Titles and winning ROH's World Tag Titles a record 13 times.

When ROH temporarily shut down, the Briscoes began working all over the world in high demand, winning titles and creating dream bouts for their rabid fans in many promotions.

Jay grew up idolizing CAC's Terry Funk and Bruiser Brody and would later famously cite them in some of his TV promos.

Jay's daughter, Gracie(12), had emergency back surgery and both she and sister Jayleigh(9) were initially admitted Tuesday night in critical condition. Jayleigh is now stable according to Jay's wife Ashley who also posted "Pray for her(Gracie)precious legs to move again." Their Laurel District School closed Wednesday stating "due to an unthinkable tragedy in our community, we will be closed tomorrow. Please keep the Pugh Family in your thoughts and prayers."

Remember to give your friends, wrestlers, peers and others their flowers while they're still alive. Many of the boys were glad they did during Jay's life.

A public GiveSendGo account to aid the family has been set-up online. Jay Briscoe had packed an amazing career into those two decades but was taken from us at a far too young age.

The CAC joins wrestlers, fans, family, friends, wrestling organizations and executives from around the world in our heartfelt shock, grief and condolences.
