Cauliflower Alley Club members were saddened to learn of the passing of lifetime member Cathy Schave Kemp on Saturday.
Cathy, a fixture at the club's yearly reunions, was loved by all and could be counted on to trumpet the virtues of the club and lend a hand when needed, as she continued to do this past September while helping at the registration desk greeting reunion attendees picking up their lanyards.
A resident of Vancouver, Washington, Cathy was the wife of Stuart Kemp, the CAC's cribbage tournament coordinator.
Stuart, broke the news on Facebook stating that Cathy had passed at 4:50 PM Pacific Standard Time setting off an outpouring of both grief and support for Stuart during this most difficult time.
Lifetime member, Michelle Starr, was among the many who posted tributes to our beloved Cathy. He wrote: So sad to learn the passing of a such a good friend. I believe I've known Cathy Schave Kemp for around 25 years. We became friends the first day I met her somewhere in Oregon in the late 90s. She would do anything for the boys and was loved by all of us. My deepest condolences to her husband Stuart Kemp, her son Shane and all of her family and friends."
Famed women's wrestling star, Princess Victoria (club member Viki Otis) was another, stating: Fly high sweet lady ❤️ Cathy Schave Kemp you will be missed by so many. But I know Burt (Prentice) is promoting the match you're selling gimmicks and Matt (Borne) is in the ring. Love you ❤️"
There were many, many others as well and I am sure the tributes, memories and support will continue as both the club and the world mourns a very special friend.
May you now be in a better place and free from burden our friend. The CAC mourns your passing and extends our sincerest condolences to Stuart, your family and so many, many friends. May you rest in peace.
