CAC Loses Longtime Member

Doug Anderson, father of CAC future Legend Award winner Melissa Anderson, was a longtime CAC member who attended quite a few of our reunions both in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Doug was not only a gifted wrestler but a longtime trainer and promoter. He was one of the nicest, giving guys in the industry. In the late 1990's, he and Melissa relocated from Southern California to NorCal and the Bay Area where they became an integral part of Roland Alexander's APW promotion for years. And where Melissa met her future husband in former CAC board member Jason Deadrich. Doug often teamed with Bill Anderson as a brother combination but, in actual fact, the two were really good friends but not related. Here's what Melissa replied back to me with just now:

>Here’s the info Mike and thank you. The services on Saturday and the information is below.

It is with great sadness that I announce of the passing of my wonderful father, Doug Anderson. Doug passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Saturday, July 3 in his home.

Doug Anderson was a beloved member of his local church and community. He served in the Navy, worked with LAPD for 29 years, and was a very beloved man in the wrestling industry. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 10th, at 11am at Hillside Church. Condolences and flowers can be sent directly to the church.
