New Wrestling Collectibles and Documentary Series Coming to A&E!

A&E cable network tag-teamed with WWE to launch a new 8 week series of shows beginning this Sunday, April 18 at 8 pm EDT. First up is "WWE's Most Wanted Treasures" hosted by Stephanie McMahon and her husband/star wrestler Paul "HHH" Levesque. They were on ABC/Disney's Good Morning America show this week to talk up the show that will uncover and reclaim WWE's most iconic, lost memorabilia with host Michael Strahan who's a devout wrestling fan besides an NFL legend. Wrestlers are notorious for putting their ring robes, title belts, boots and other gimmicks into the back of their garage or closets and WWE's top power couple have enlisted a group of collection and archive experts like CAC attendees Ben Brown and wrestler-in-training AJ Francis "to investigate, negotiate, bid and travel across the U.S. to hunt down and reclaim some of the most elusive wrestling collectibles," said HHH. "I'm all about history as many are and it helps us with today's business to know where we came from. For wrestlers, wrestling people and fans, it often brings them back to happy times when they were growing up much like hearing an old song that takes you back to great memories." Some of the many prized items include former CAC board member & past honoree Fred Blassie's 14K gold-plated Rolex Watch, Undertaker's robes and boots, John Cena's spinning medallion and Andre the Giant's beloved, classic red gigantic ring boots. CAC attendee and hardcore legend Mick Foley said his mind was blown when he saw one particular superfan's entire house dominated inch-by-inch by his wrestling collection. Guest commentators on the show also include Taker, Ric Flair and wrestler daughter Charlotte, Kane(now an elected Mayor!), Big Show Paul Wight and a slew of past CAC honorees in Mark Henry, Booker T, Jerry Lawler, Greg Valentine, Jake Roberts and Sgt. Slaughter. "We're doing this to both unearth these rare, ofte lost items in the hopes of preserving and sharing their legacy behind their role in memorable moments in WWE history," A&E said. Disclosure: I was asked to help on both shows with my photos and more dating back many decades. Pro Wrestling's actual history dates back to 1860's France(not just 1881).

Also debuting Sunday is A&E's 8-week Biography series featuring Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, CAC Honorees Steve Austin and Roddy Piper where I helped out with rookie year photos, etc; and more. Lending their expertise are Jim Ross, Vince McMahon Jr, Bully Ray and many other top names.

Both shows should be can't-miss appointment television for CAC'ers!
