Spotlight on the members of the CAC

CAC member Ric "THE EQUALIZER" Drasin has done it all –

from selling cereal to movie acting to professional wrestling and even designing the famous GOLDS GYM logo– and now Ric has landed a segment on a reality show for the Travel Channel (due out in March 2007). He is also pitching another program that is getting very good attention to a nationally broadcast cable station and has recently finished taping several segments for that as well.

"What a cheering squad!"

Ric was trained in 1965 by Mae Young, upstairs at the Olympic Auditorium. For over 40 years, Ric has been in great physical shape and still continues to keep his body in excellent shape today. On occasion, Ric is known to lace up his boots and step back in the ring in front of hundreds of screaming fans and give them what they came to see, Professional Wrestling. On some nights, he is battling against his son and of course his other son may very well be the Referee.

Ric is aware, as are many of us in the business, that the chances of making it big time now in the Pro-Wrestling world is a long shot, but he has decided to help the ones out that might not have a chance to make it to the big time. Ric has opened up the "AWF WRESTLING SCHOOL" in Van Nuys California where he is allowing people to live their dreams. They may not make it to Madison Square Garden, but if they survive the training; the blood, sweat and tears, they may have that one match they’ve dreamed about. They can say they did it. Right now, one of Ric's students is a gentleman that is in his late 50's and wants one match before he is 60. In addition to the wrestling training, this gentleman is getting his body in better-than-average shape for a person his age, which is an added benefit to the vigorous workouts Ric sends his students through.

"You just think you want some of me!"

I contacted Karl Lauer about Ric and he began to tell a really funny story. It seems that Karl was promoting a show in Las Vegas and, at the time, he worked under a mask as the "BOSSMAN". During the match a spot had been planned for the BOSSMAN to interfere in the match. Well things got mixed up and, when the Bossman got in the ring, he took a major blow from Ric. The BOSSMAN (unplanned) went sailing out of the ring and landed right on top of the owner of the Hotel/Casino. Well Ric jumps out and starts pounding Bossman. In the process he is telling the Bossman to get out of there. Well the Bossman commenced to tell him quit beating on me so I can. After the match Ric walked in the locker room and headed straight to Karl, aka Bossman, and with deep apologies explained that he really didn't meant to hit him that hard... Of course Karl upheld the time-honored tradition of the business and started "working" Ric about his pay off. Karl said he would first have to see what his medical expense would be before he paid Ric for the nights work. Eventually Ric got paid that night and everything worked out fine. Karl did talk to the owner to settle up with all the bills and such. And she informed Karl, that Bossman got what he deserved, I didn't like him landing on me but he deserved to be knocked out of the ring. Karl politely looked at her and said, "You know I'm going to have to fire him! He is getting totally out of hand and I cant do nothing with him!"
