Available to all wrestling media outlets and promoters: “The King” Harley Race is available for booking for appearances and signings for wrestling promotions around the country.

The former 8-time World’s Heavyweight Champion’s career speaks for itself. One of the only “true champions” left in the world of professional wrestling, his storied career still carries on. Harley Race is a name recognized in the world of professional wrestling around the world. He has wrestled in nearly every country on every continent on the globe. Along with the many matches he has had, he has earned countless championships that only heighten his status as a professional wrestler.

Starting in the early 1960’s, Race wrestled for St. Joseph promoter Gust Karras. After a car accident that put Race out for months, he returned to the ring and formed a tag team with Larry “The Axe” Hennig. The two wrestled for the American Wrestling Alliance (A.W.A) and won tag team championships along the way.

After achieving tag team success, Harley then went on to pursue singles stardom. After leaving the A.W.A., he joined the National Wrestling Alliance (N.W.A.). Race had many memorable feuds with Terry and Dory Funk Jr., Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Tommy Rich, Jack and Jerry Briscoe, the entire Von Erich family and numerous other wrestlers. While in the N.W.A., Harley was able to have many different types of matches all over the world, and also wrestled at the very first Starrcade in 1983. At this event, he wrestled Ric Flair in a memorable steel cage match at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC. Having won the World’s Heavyweight Championship on 8 different occasions, Harley signed with the World Wrestling Federation (W.W.F.)

While in the W.W.F., he continued success by winning the King of the Ring tournament by beating Pedro Morales. By beating Morales, he earned the moniker “The King” Harley Race. From here, Race engaged in feuds with the Junkyard Dog, Hulk Hogan, and Jim Duggan. While wrestling for the W.W.F., he was able to wrestle at the “biggest show of them all”, Wrestlemania.

His accolades in this profession have earned him many awards and spots in hall of fames with the N.W.A., W.W.E., W.C.W., and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame.

After retiring from in-ring competition, Harley moved to the Lake of the Ozarks located in Mid-Missouri. He founded World League Wrestling and the Harley Race Wrestling Academy. Here, he trains students that want to pursue a career in professional wrestling. The company and school has working relationships that send his students to Japan and occasional television tapings for W.W.E. To inquire about booking Harley Race, please contact the W.L.W. office at 573-392-4100 or email wlwmom@earthlink.net.
