Hello everyone... I guess those of us who are snug as a bug in our homes should be thanking our lucky stars that we never met up with Charley, Frances and Ivan the terrible. I am 700 and some miles inland from Florida and homes here have been flooded with 3 feet of water from the rain storms that followed. We here at the CAC hope everyone weathered them all and are well. Ella Waldek had to vacate her home in Tampa for both hurricanes Charley and Frances, but had no damage. Peggy Allen, Kitty Adams and Bonnie Watson are also without storm damage. They are keeping positive thoughts for Ivan to miss everyone including our friends in the Mobile area. Ella is healing fine from the small car accident she had on her way to visit her sister. She bruised her left knee and broke a rib. Says she will see us next year in Las Vegas, if all goes well. I am training hard for my State Competition October 1st and 2nd, I really want to make the National Senior Olympic Games in Pittsburgh, PA next June. I just learned of the passing of Balk Estes. I remember him so well from my bookings in Indianapolis, Indiana in the early 1960s. What a wonderful man he was. Got an e-mail message from Kay Noble and both she and her husband are planning on attending next year’s reunion. I have my frequent flyer ticket and hope USAirways is still around for me to use it.
This
is it for now folks, and as of this minute I am still searching for a
girl to honor as a Legend next year. Ethel Johnson is still being
evasive in her replies to me. |
