MONDAY’S NO SLOW DAY AT CAC

The Monday that kicks off the reunion isn’t just a day to arrive in Las Vegas, unpack, wander around the Gold Coast and maybe take in a show.  Not by a long shot!

The CAC crew will be hard at work setting up our hospitality center in Salons A and B of the Nevada Ballroom from early in the morning of April 18.  We’re ready to roll at 10:00 a.m., and the registration desk is open through to 6:00 p.m. Drop by anytime to pick up your name badge that’s your passport to every CAC event.  While you’re there, take a walk through the photographic displays.  Check out the great selection of memorabilia that our merchants are offering.  Sign up for the cribbage tournament to be held over the next two days.

Whatever Bret Hart said, it sure made Stone Cold Steve Austin crack up.

Above all, don’t forget what CAC is all about: The Ring of Friendship.  It’s not just a motto, it’s the reason behind this 46 year old wrestling institution created by grand old pro Iron Mike Mazurki.  Greet your old friends from out on the road, half-a-dozen states away from your home, or reunions past.  See someone you’ve long wanted to meet, or meet again after many years apart?  Just walk over and introduce yourself, and you’ve taken one more step into The Ring of Friendship.

“I’ve met wrestlers at the reunion that I haven’t crossed paths with in as much as 40 years,” one of our directors says enthusiastically, “and what an absolute pleasure it is after all that time. The relationships that we form in this business are really unique.  So often, it’s like picking up a conversation that you had just a short while back, not years ago.”

Sean Dunster and the lovely Tanya Lavigne walk the aisle at 4pm Monday.

Mark 4:00 p.m. Monday on your calendar, and join us in the Arizona Ballroom foyer for a wedding!  Sean Dunster, Massive Damage to wrestling fans across Canada for the past 15 years, and Tanya Lavigne, the well-known Sexy Samantha of Canadian indy fame, will tie the knot with Bishop Jason Sanderson presiding.   The ceremony will recall the on-stage wedding of Adrian Street and Miss Linda some eight years back, so it’s far from an everyday event at the reunion.

For those craving live wrestling action, be at the FSW arena at 6:00 p.m. for a big Future Stars of Wrestling card.  FSW is Las Vegas’ premiere ring promotion, presenting frequent cards and well-known names.  The card will feature several independent stars who are attending CAC from across the country, so there’ll be no lack of action.

Future Stars Of Wrestling

The Kansas City crew takes a bow: left to right, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Andrews, Akio Sato and wife Betty Niccoli, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Geigel, and KC announcer Bill Kersten.

Monday’s main event will kick off in the Arizona Ballroom at 8:30 p.m, with a hospitality evening that will give everyone a chance to mix and mingle in a casual atmosphere.  Even if you take in the FSW card, you’ll have time to make it back to the Gold Coast in time for the event.  EVP Karl Lauer and others will be manning the roving microphone from 9:00 o’clock onwards, inviting many of the stars of yesterday and today to recall road stories, entertain you with their comments, create more than a few laughs, and yes, maybe even cut a promo or two!  The room will have a cash bar, plenty of seating and presents perhaps the best opportunity of the reunion to sit back, relax and visit with new friends and old.

As we said at the start, Monday isn’t just the day you arrive……it’s the first of three great days in The Ring of Friendship.  Jump right in, and make the most of it!
