May you and Darlene enjoy the occasion to the fullest, my friend, and we’ll look forward to seeing you again in April.

  8. Hi Nick, Many beers, many miles down that road brought you to this moment. When I was in Minneapolis, I wanted to invite you and Darlene for dinner. Darlene and Serena had a great time at my place one evening. December 10 will make it 37 years ago that she died, I still miss her. You are a lucky man to still have Darlene to help blow out the candles. Regards and many more years. Your Friend Paul Diamond.

  9. Happy Birthday Nick! Thanks for the memories.

  10. Nick
I remember 1956 like yesterday, at the old Pasadena arena, you were a antique 22 year old, and I was a young 18 year old, sitting in the seats above the snack bar checking out all the girls . Them were the fun days, shows every night and the longest drive was 100 miles to SanDiego, home every night, decent pay offs, and what do you do, go to Minnisota and homestead for 40 years, make a fortune, and buy Las Vegas, become President of the CAC and once again I’m taking orders from a older buddy, but it’s been a good ride and we have a lot of memories, Happy Birthday my OLDER friend, talk to you on the the next Opiee visit to the fire hydrant. ( inside story)

  11. My thanks to all that have wished me a Happy Birthday. It has been great sharing so many memories with many of you and has made these 75 years a joy and blessing on this earth. See you all in April.

  12. Happiest of birthdays to you, Mr. Bockwinkel !

Please excuse the delay in the delivery of well wishes from this particular cretinous humanoid. Only now have I returned from the pro shop of my regional golf course. The Herculean task of finding a suitable present was deemed fruitless upon asking to see any and all devices that could conceivably be deemed feasible means to defeat the venerable Darlene Bockwinkel in a Best-of-Eighteen-Holes contest. It appears that one who would have the audacity to make such a challenge is destined to incur her wrath with a deft swipe of the hardware of her choice. Thus alerted, I withdrew my quest for shallow baubles and modestly issue my most severe encouragement to you to abandon any such Quixotic pursuits, to reflect on a good life led to date instead, and to have the knowledge that the weak smile of surrender is still a smile nonethless.

    Happy Birthday Nick!

Seems like only yesterday it was 1960 in Omaha at the weekly TV matches. We fast talked the police security into letting us backstage to the dressing room to talk to you and thus the first Nick Bockwinkle Fan Club was born. If only we had computers then. We did the newsletters with a typewriter and carbon paper. You kept in touch thru the mail from all of your travels letting us know how the matches went and of course the occasional phone call where we talked about everything from parents to school. You gave us alot of advise and we thought you were the coolest guy on earth!!! (We still do :) ) Alot of years have passed since then and we have all lived full lives and now the FUN retirement years begin. We hope this next year brings you lots of happiness and good health.
    Take care!!
    Love ya,

    Karen, Judy, Bev & Pat

Nick, God’s Blessings at the 3/4 of a century mark.
Twice my vacations have conincided with the CAC convention. Although not members, my wife and I stopped by. Both times you were most cordial to a now 58 yr. old fan.
I saw Jake Milliman on Saturday at Blizzard Brawl in Waukesha, WI. He summed it up by saying, “Nick is a very nice man.”

Happy Birthday and May you have many more.

I will be attendance at the next CAC reunion in April in Las Vegas. I also will be at the Wrestlereunion near LAX around the end of January, not to mention the CES show next month in Vegas, and other Vegas trade shows as of this writing.

You once mentioned to me the good old days where your old stomping grounds were Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood. With all the highrises and other redevelopment projects gpoing on, you’d be shocked and awed as to how much the old neighborhood has changed.

Have a happy birthday Nick, and I look forward to seeing you again.

P.S. A $10 gift certificate from Resturant.com is coming your way soon.

  16. Happy Birthday Nick from an Australian fan, I remember seeing you one of your tours to Australia many years ago and always look at the CAC site for updates of the Wrestlers I remember from years gone by, have a great day and have a Merry Christmas

  17. Happy 75th Mr Bockwinkel.

I still watch clips from the AWA days. You were an entertaining Champion and I’ll always be a fan of Old School Wrestling.
Hope you enjoyed your B-Day. I just turned 40 myself on the 25th of November.

  18. From a longtime Fan in Hawaii, Happy Birthday! I enjoyed all the good ole days back in the early sixties…the wrestling holds demo with Luigi Macera. The many great hour long matches at the Civic with Curtis Iaukea over that US Belt. Watching you backstage stifling laughter when Freddie Blassie made outrageous interviews, and, of course the incredible resemblance to Hawaii’s dean of newscasters, Bob Sevey, with whom you shared the same birthday (though not the same year). You have practiced your craft as a great doctor practices medicine. May you have many happy birthdays yet to come. Aloha.

  19. Wow..I just got a hold of this site… Saw this BDay and had to drop a big BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my alltime best wrestlers list # 3 in category of best ever…Mr. Nick Bockwinkle. Happy 75th my man and hopefully so many more… Greatness endures time and U R truly Greatness…

Happy Birthday Mr. Bockwinkle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when I was a little boy back in 1975, I used to watch you and Ray” the crippler” Stevens, managed by Bobby “the brain” Heenan. You guys were great!!!!!!!!!

  21. Happy Birthday, Nick!

I am sorry to send this late, but the feelings are the same nonetheless. You are truly a gentleman and one oif the most intelligent men that I have known in wrestling. I have enjoyed talking with you about topics other than wrestling just as much as wrestlling itself. My feeling are you would have been a CEO of a major company had you not been a wrestler. Last year’s honoring of you at the CAC was so wonderful and your accepptance was so true of yout humbleness and class. I lsot my father at 76 ( a true wrestling fan himself) a month earlier and spent the first two days of the CAC in Spring Valley Hospital before finally getting to the banquet late that evening but just in time to see you awarded.

You are a great presdient and truly reflect our “Club”. Although I am a fan and not a wrestler, you make me feel just as welcome. I am very proud to be a member of the CAC and even when the day comes that you are no longer with us I will continue to be a member and keep the memory of you and others strong.

Enjoy the continued great life in Summerlin and hopefully we will run into each other before CAC again. I’ll buy the coffee. (yeah the doctor told me I can drink it again now too!)

    Best Wishes,

    Mike Masarsky (and Cheryl Wilson)
