CAC RETURNS TO RIVIERA IN 2005
In the early 1960s, the Rat Pack ruled Las Vegas. One of their favorite haunts -- a location featured in the original Oceans 11 -- was the fabulous Riviera Hotel and Casino.

In April 2005, wrestling's version of the Rat Pack, the one and only Cauliflower Alley Club, will return to the Riviera for their big 40th anniversary reunion. Who needs Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin when you have the equally-hip Nick Bockwinkel, Mad Dog Vachon and other CAC luminaries on tap?

CAC president Red Bastein said, "We are

really excited about this event, and so pleased it will be held at the Riviera. People who have missed past reunions for one reason or another said they wouldn't dream of missing this one. It's going to be a real happening."

From 2000-2002, the Riviera was CAC's reunion headquarters. "We had some exciting times there in the past, and there are many more to come," said CAC executive vice president Karl Lauer. "Other hotels were in the running for our 40th reunion, but the Rivera really had the goods. I know everybody will be pleased with what they have to offer"

From the luxury rooms to the fine convention facilities, the hotel features some of the best on the Las Vegas Strip. CAC members will be able to get rooms at a substantial discount. With taxes and everything, it's just a shade over $100.00 a night. Keep in mind when you get a room at the hotel, you are helping the Cauliflower Alley Club out because when a certain block of rooms are filled, CAC gets space for the reunion taken care of by the hotel. (Otherwise CAC simply could not fund this event.) So, if you really want to help CAC, do your best to stay at The Riviera, even if that means having a roommate (or two!).

"This is a world-class hotel, which is perfect for such a big event," said Red Bastein. "We have less banquet space at the Rivera than we did at the Plaza -- room for under 600 people. But the view is magnificent, and the quality is there. Quality over quantity. So when tickets go on sale, I urge everybody to get them as soon as they can, because they won't last long and we will sell out."

As a reminder, you cannot attend the banquet and festivities unless you are a member in good standing with the CAC. If you wish to attend and you are not a member, you will be charged an additional $25.00 at the time of your ticket purchase, and that will immediately make you a member of the CAC for a full year.

Several events exclusive to the 40th reunion are already in the works, and several honorees have already been announced. Among the elite group for 2005, managerial great Sir Oliver Humperdink, the husband and wife team of Paul Christy and Bunny Love, the highly respected AWA worker Kenny Jay, and the legendary Terry Funk, who will receive CAC's highest honor, the Iron Mike Mazurki Award.

Banquet tickets are currently on sale. The event runs from Thursday, April 14th through Saturday, April 16th. But many people like to get there a day early and stay and extra day at the end.
